Every week you'll write a completely original song, record it in a professional studio, and perform it on Friday.
Performances will be audio and video recorded to share!
Learn to work with your bandmates to create something brand new together. Solve problems and creative differences as a team.
Play with your friends, take a daily nature hike and enjoy a picnic lunch outdoors. Songwriting session in the woods? Sounds like summer!

Each week will host one band, of up to 7 members, aged 6-9 or 9-12. The age of each week will depend on demand.
Sample Daily Schedule
9:00am - drop off
9:00am-9:30am - warmup jam and band meeting
9:30am-11:00am - morning rehearsal
11:00am-11:3oam - nature walk
11:30am-12:30pm - lunch and games outside
12:30pm-2:00pm - afternoon rehearsal
2:00pm-3:00pm - group music lesson, songwriting workshop or instrument workshops
3:00pm - pickup
Kathryn was the summer camp manager for a music school in Brooklyn for several years, managing over 50 kids per week! Kathryn knows exactly what it takes to make this a magical, transformative, safe and memorable experience. Kathryn also teaches ukulele, voice, piano and songwriting at East Mountain Studio.
Stephen is the owner and teacher of East Mountain Studio, serving over 30 families here in Cold Spring, NY and online. Stephen has taught over a hundred kid bands in his teaching career, and 8 years of music summer camp. He has a passion for songwriting and leading groups of young musicians to create something greater than the sum of their parts. Stephen teaches guitar, piano, drums, bass, ukulele, banjo, production and songwriting.
